Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor®
Besides Carrier, we install a lot of Mitsubishi Electric heat pump systems, ducted whole-home systems, ductless and commercial, as an independent Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor®.
Ducted systems
Most of the Mitsubishi Electric systems we install are ducted. In Mitsubishi Electric's words, its ducted products "connect to existing ductwork to deliver heating and cooling for one room or your entire home," and you can add ductless units for areas the ducts don't reach.
intelli-AIR™ Multi-position Air Handlers
Quiet, compact air handlers that install vertically or horizontally to fit almost anywhere, with a built-in humidifier. Mitsubishi Electric calls them an ideal replacement for fossil-fuel systems in new builds, additions and retrofits, in a wide range of capacities for homes and light commercial spaces such as offices, retail and restaurants. Swap your gas furnace for an intelli-AIR air handler and keep your existing ducts. Which system fits your space?
intelli-HEAT® dual fuel
intelli-HEAT works with your existing gas furnace, switching between electricity and gas based on whichever is most efficient and effective. If the house can't keep temperature in extreme weather, its Intelligent Switchover hands off to the furnace. It's designed to fit most ducted gas furnaces and adds all-electric cooling. Ductless systems
- Single-zone: one outdoor unit to one indoor unit, for anything from a bedroom to a whole floor.
- Multi-zone: up to eight indoor units on one outdoor unit, each zone with its own temperature.
- Indoor units that suit the room: wall-mounted (including the Designer Series in gloss black, matte silver or gloss white), floor-mounted and ceiling cassettes. See the indoor units
- Good for additions, rooms over garages, ADUs and older homes with no ducts.
Commercial systems
We install Mitsubishi Electric's commercial products too, from light commercial to CITY MULTI® VRF.
- CITY MULTI® VRF: variable refrigerant flow systems that run many indoor units, each zone with its own control, from one outdoor system. Heat-recovery models can heat some zones while cooling others at the same time.
- Light commercial: ducted and ductless systems for offices, retail, restaurants and server rooms.

Hyper-Heating INVERTER®
Mitsubishi Electric heat pumps with H2i® Hyper-Heating INVERTER technology are rated for comfort in outdoor temperatures from -22°F to 115°F. Wi-Fi-enabled systems connect to Mitsubishi Electric's Comfort app for temperature and schedules from your phone.
Diamond Contractor® warranty
From Mitsubishi Electric's consumer brochure:
- 12-year warranty: most products registered by a Diamond Contractor within 90 days of installation receive a 12-year parts and compressor warranty.
- 10-year warranty: products registered within 90 days of installation receive a 10-year parts and compressor warranty.
- 5- and 7-year: all products, registered or not, receive a 5-year parts and 7-year compressor warranty.
Outside California, registration within 90 days is what earns the longer warranty. California law limits warranties that depend on registration, and Mitsubishi Electric's warranty statements say California residents need not register, so ask us what applies to your system when we quote it. Extended labor coverage
Mitsubishi Electric's warranty covers parts and the compressor. To also cover the labor to fix a covered failure, we offer extended service plans. Ask us about one when we quote your system.
- JB Warranties: labor coverage for 2, 3, 5 or 10 years, with an option that adds a parts allowance and refrigerant. No deductible, and repeat repairs are covered without penalty. A plan can be added up to two years after installation, and transfers free to the next owner of the home. For outdoor units within a mile of the ocean or a bay, JB requires its Seacoast plan, which we'll quote for homes near the coast.
Plans cover mechanical and electrical failures in normal use. They don't cover routine maintenance or problems caused by a lack of it, and they require the system to be maintained every year. Coverage begins after a waiting period from purchase. Each plan's own terms and conditions are the final word on what it covers.
What Diamond Contractor means
Mitsubishi Electric says Diamond Contractors "have received advanced training directly from Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US and receive ongoing product, service, and installation updates and training."
